Do you remember the seasons of the church year?

The Gospel of our Lord Jesus is a story of his appearance on earth--the greatest story every told.

The first of the church seasons is ADVENT which means coming, and always begins four Sundays before Christmas. Jeaus comes with grace and forgiveness of our sins.

CHRISTMAS is the second season of the Christian year. It is a time that God cares for us. If we but accept this gift of his dear Son, we are his children forever. Christ is the revelation of God to man which we celebrate every Christmas.

EPIPHANY is next, a Greek word which means a light shining out into darkness. The sky shone brighter; one star even stood over where the young child was. He is the Light of the world.

LENT follows and the word is an old Anglo-Saxon one which means spring. It reminds us that the cross is a great sign and symbol of the Christian Faith. Lent, traditionally, is a season of self sacrifice.

Then, EASTER which reminds us that the cross is an empty cross because Christ has risen from the dead. He has conquered death.

ASCENSIONTIDE follows Easter as our Lord has ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand Of God.

WHITSUNTIDE, a day which depict God's gift of the Holy Spirit to his church.

The Holy Trinity or God in three persons, Blessed TRINITY is the final season before the start of the rotation of the Christian year again with Advent.
